A primary goal across the district is to integrate techology more fully into curriculum design, instructional activities, and assessment. In order to acheive this goal, the District is committed to providing appropriate training to increase the proficiency of teachers in creating instructional activities incorporating technology. This training takes place during half-day workshops, afterschool and at pre/post school year "technology weeks".

Infinite campus will also allow us to track student progress through tracking common assessment information.

The district will provide staff to help implement the technology through-out the district · In the elementary schools, two instructors will continue to utilize a variety of software programs for targeted instruction aligned with Maine Learning Results. Students in grades four through six will receive integrated instruction in word processing, documentation, Internet research, databases, and spreadsheets. Prior to moving to middle school, students in sixth grade will demonstrate their technological competency by completing an assessment.

· In grades seven and eight, all students will continue to receive nine weeks of direct training in networking, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and operation of MLTI laptops. Junior high school staff will continue to take advantage of in-service training provided by the state through MLTI. Technology will continue to be integrated into all subjects at the junior high school where staff and students use instructional technology on daily basis. Over the next three years we will develop an advanced level of technology integration in the classroom as part of the competency scale. jlj - did we do this? if yes, should we explain? We will be developing support for this step from the technology staff. Another focus is to use technology to track student progress on the common assessments that make up the Local Assessment System. jlj - did we do this?
